This version works beautifully on Mavericks 10.9.1

Go ahead and buy it! Whatever the problems were, they haven’t crashed my Macs runing Mavericks 10.9.1. This is a great chat client — lightweight, stable and very fast, with no detectable latency on my machines. I’m witholding a fifth star only because setup is less than obvious to occasional chatters like me. I suggest you consult the Wiki for TWIT or for CORDKILLERS if you want a step-by-step setup guide for either of these networks.
